Stamped bookmarks by the Cherry Pie Yahoo group

Even though I usually go to bed too late every night, I love to read a few pages of a book before sleep. I often alternate the books I read (they're all non-fiction so it's not that hard) and I decided I needed to have a bunch of bookmarks to keep in my nightstand drawer so I can have one whenever I need!
That's how I got the idea of organizing a bookmarks swap with my Yahoo group!
Now I have 18 original, colorful and fabulous bookmarks!

Stamped paper dolls

Since I'm into the doll frenzy, I thought of showing here some paper dolls made by my Yahoo group. All stamps used are by Cherry Pie of course.

New doll

When I make a new doll I start with sculpting a face. I don't know who she will be until she "speaks" to me. This new face hadn't spoken for some days, but last night I heard her saying she's Wednesday Addams!
I wasn't so sure so I googled online and I found these pics of the 1991 movie with Christina Ricci and, hey, she really has similar features!

Gothic windows booklet

For those who read my blog and are not in my Yahoo group, this is a swap we organized in 2008.
I made a template for this Gothic arch so all the players could use the same size. We were 11 players and I bound all the entries in accordion fold. It turned out really neat!

The players in the order of the pages are: myself (Marina), Kathy Ronan from FL, Loretta d'Onofrio (Australia), Mary Ann Severin, Barbe Dare (Australia), Melanie Becker (Germany), Brandy Wickham from OH, Barbara Poe from FL, Carol Anderson from Australia, Janie Husband from NC, Zed McWilton from FL and me again with the back cover.

My art muse is hard at work

I haven't published artwork on this blog for quite a while, but I have actually been in a very prolific art mood and I did a whopping 14 paintings and 2 dolls in about a month time!
All in between pressing rubber and the usual chores of course.
Today I want to show you my new girl whose name is Shanna. She is made of Paperclay with vintage glass eyes and she wears a dress and stockings from the 60's.

If you want to see almost everything else I've been up to, you can click on the title of this posting and you will see my Flickr gallery.

Skinny Book - artwork by the Cherry Pie Yahoo group

Today I want to show off some cool artwork done by my Yahoo group. We swapped this "skinny" booklet that actually ended up being a fat-skinny one! In fact the requirements were to use at least one handmade clay piece and we all ended up with really thick pages!

Orders shipped!

At Cherry Pie's all US orders are shipped by electronic mail with a delivery confirmation and Misty takes care of it.

Then Gino makes sure that everything is brought to the Post Office the same day!

It's so good to have such efficient helpers! :-)
Maybe I'll take a vacation....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A healthy, wealthy, prosperous 2009 to everyone!
Wished by Marina and my new little girl. Her name is Candy Cotton. She was sleeping when the fireworks woke her up last night so she grabbed her dolly and got up from bed.
Candy and her doll have glass eyes and they are sculpted with Paperclay. ©Marina Lenz, 2008-9

Christmas doll - Thea

Thea is my new creation, a little 9 inch (22 cm) girl made of paperclay. She is holding a Christmas ornament I made out of rolled paperclay and stamped (both sides) with the large Klimt swirls.
